"Compared to the Tempurpedic I switched from the p7 is much more comfortable because it's the exact right firmness I need. As an adjustable bed, it's much more comfortable in a sitting position because of the way the air bladders adjust to support you. I miss the feeling of lying in solid wet sand a bit, and it transfers motion because it's air bladders, not a foam slab, but it's a vast improvement over my old Tenmpurpedic. Glad I switched."

One remote for California King...Really!

"I just purchased this bed and several other sleep number products to go on the bed. I didn't realize that it only comes with one remote. I don't understand why Sleep Number would not provide two remotes for all beds that sleep two people and have two pumps. I'm already tired of passing the remote and am not happy that I have to spend more money to buy another one."

"I travel with my job and have slept on hundreds of hotel beds. I don't know how many times I have stayed at nice hotels and have had coil springs poking into me from matresses without proper padding. When we stay at a hotel our number one priority is a comfortable bed. Our new p7 bed is the best bed we have ever slept on....No Springs..No Springs!! This is our second sleepnumber bed and the third that we have purchased. We just moved and left our first sleepnumber bed at our old home. We purchased a regular mattress and box spring which needed a foam memory pad to make it comfortable. That queen size bed was comfortable but every time one of us moved it disturbed the other. With the new king size p7 bed, we get both the comfort of the memory foam and can adjust the level of support in the air chambers depending on how much our backs hurt. I have had 4 neck and back surgeries and have titanium plates and screws in my spine. We will never ever buy another brand of bed. We recommend this combination memory foam and air mattress bed to anyone who suffers from back pain."

"This is our second Sleep Number bed and our first with the memory foam top. I would highly recommend this bed. With every other bed I have slept on I would wake up in the morning with a sore back. This is the only bed that I wake up and my back feels great. I had read other reviews before purchasing this bed and some of them complained about sleeping too hot. I have not found that to be the case. We did purchase the temperature control mattress pad and sheets, but I'm not sure how much difference that has made. Even if I did sleep a little warmer it would be well worth it to not have a sore back every morning."

".This is a great bed. We purchased it about a year ago and took our older sleep number to Texas for our winter home. You will love the mattress and how adaptable it is for climate control. We also ordered the new mattress pad that is very soothing at any climate. You will love this bed, when I first felt the mattress it reminded me of a newborns tender face.I wouldn"t trade it for anything. In fact we bought 2 twins for our girls who are still at home and they love them too."

"I have owned my sleep number bed for almost 4 years now. I can honestly say there is NO BETTER bed on the market. I have major back problems. Even tho it is just me in the bed I got a dual air bag model. I thought, oh man did I ever make a mistake. So I called the sleep number folks in my local mall. PROBLEM solved. Just fill both bags to the same setting. I actually went back to the sleep number store, trying to talk myself out of this bed before I purchased it. I felt sort of guilty paying so much for a bed. Every time I would go in to the store I would find just the opposite, more reasons TO buy the bed. So I finally said to heck with it, and went in and purchased the bed. I had to wait 2 weeks for the bed to be delivered. That was the LONGEST 2 weeks in history. But I FINALLY got my bed and they set it up and I have never had a bad nites sleep since. THANKS SLEEP NUMBER for a super great product...."

Still Great After 3 years

"When I read reviews, I always appriciate a review from someone who has had a product for longer period of time. So here it goes. I searched for the right bed for the right price for 3 years. My wife and I almost bought an expensive memory foam bed, but after going to the store and trying it out at least 5 times, I could not make myself 100% sure it would be the best purchase. Then I tried the Sleep Number with Memery Foam and knew right away that it was the right bed. We ordered it, it arrived a week later and I set it up in under an hour. It was easier than putting together a 40 piece lego. It was awesone the first night and it is still awesome. the whole family loves it. I can't wait to get in the bed every night. I am serious. I can not wait to get in bed.
I have also purchased 3 pillow from Sleep Number and a mattress pad. The pillow are good. The pad does not want to stay in place though and it was expensive. All in all, it is a great bed and I recommend it to everyone. I feel like I did a lot of research before my purchase and I could not be happier."

Best Product I Have Ever Purchased

"First of all I have two 6 inch long rods holding my lower back together, and C4-C6 fused in my neck. All sustained on duty in the USMC. My wife and I decided to buy one of these pillow top select comfort beds years ago. The first night I slept in it I felt like crying... It was that good and that much better.
Honestly, it was THE FIRST full night of sleep that I had had in a long, long time. Prior to the Select Comfort bed I would basically dread going to bed at night. Even though we had a top shelf bed at the time, it still did not provide me with the pain free sleep that I so needed.
So off to the store to investigate these beds. Long story short, we bought the bed, had it delivered and it was such a quick process. They unpacked it did some minor assembling and filled it up with air, quick and easy... I was able to sleep without waking up 20 times and when I did wake up, I wasn't in extreme pain.
I think only those of us who have extreme pain from beds that don't provide the support you need, REALLY understand this issue. When laying in a bed becomes torture for you, that is NOT a good thing.
Anyhow, I was immediately sold on the bed and I spent the next few weeks telling every one that I knew about this bed. I talked up this product to the point where it sounded like I invented it or perhaps even gave birth to it. How can someone be "proud" of their bed? Well, I sure was proud of it.
Then it all came crashing down... THE DAY of doom... We have a Jack Russell Terrier named Rowdy and he is a VERY bad boy :) He decided to chew the wiring that leads to the control on my wife's side of the bed and it completely wrecked the bed. I was unable to fix it and her side would not inflate properly so we got rid of it.
We are currently saving up to get a king sized select comfort bed. It cannot be too soon I assure you.
-Ease of set up is amazing
-Value is top notch we had the bed 6 yrs prior to Rowdy killing it and it was still like brand new. Very durable and well made
-Yes, it is every bit as comfortable as you'd expect it to be and want it to be
- Even in this tough economy when many of us are struggling we insist on saving up so that we can buy a new one. There is no better bang for the buck, no better value in beds than this product. It is absolutely worth the wait.
-If you are disabled or have physical issues that keep you from sleeping well at night, give this line of beds a try. I can't imagine any one with physical issues like mine not being able to find a lot of comfort and relief from the Select Comfort product."

"I've been sleeping on a sleep number for a bit over 2 years. I finally have had it. I have tons of stiffness and pain in the morning when I wake up. In two years I have yet to find that wonderful "sleepnumber" experimenting with varous settings has not solved the problem. I toss an turn throughout the night. I wake several times in the night from stiffness and pain only to reposition myself and start the cycle again in a couple hours. By morning my hips and back are very stiff. Sad to say I go to bed with less stiffness and pain than when I wake in the morning."

"While in the shoping mall my wife disappeared in a store.I sat on a bench in the mall.After about a half hour i went into the store and it was a Sleep Number store.We had no intention of shoping for a bed.Their was a salesman who asked if i would like to try out their products.Itold him i sure would but i cant lay down flat in any bed and have been sleeping in a recliner chair for 3 years.I was shocked that this bed started lifting up at the head.So i was able to try it out.Ive had a swelling of the brain and some stiffness in the face.The sales man allowed me to stay in the bed while my wife worked on the sale details.I just didnt want to get out of it.We have the bed just 5 days now.I was having trouble trying to adjust and went back to the store.The problem was the pillows i was trying to use.So the sales man showed me a pillow that is just like down but wont flatten out.I never thought i would ever be in a bed again.With problems sometime you just have to do what you have to do to make life a little better.This new bed and pillow are the best you can find for rest,sleep and comfort.I dont think anyone can beat it.I feel like a kid with a new toy.Its my super bed as i call it.To me its just short of a miracle that im in a bed.I can rest like never before.Most times i dread to have to get out of it.I sure thank Sleep Number and tha sales man who took the time to make sure we made the right choice.So if you want the best in sleeping.or a need for helping sleep problems to me this is the only place to head to.They do have the answer to restful sleep problems.wow a new happy world for me."

"My husband and I bought this bed 5 yrs. ago. We love it, our Chihuahua loves it and so does our house sitters! Our next purchase will be for our camper! I hate spending the night away from our sleep number bed! It's really hard getting out of bed cause it is sooo amazingly comfortable! The only downside to this bed is the price. I wish every person could afford to be this comfortable!"

"My wife and I received our P7 last night. The delivery & set-up team was in and out within 25 minutes - much quicker than I had expected.
We both slept great and agree that the bed is extremely comfortable. I slept a solid 12 hours (after an extremely busy week) and woke up this morning without any stiffness or soreness. Being able to adjust the firmness setting to our personal levels is a huge benefit; we both have very different opinions as to what the ideal softness / firmness level is! Perfect for a couple.
The memory foam offers excellent support. You can feel the foam quickly conform to the shapes and curves of your body. I had some concerns about temperature because I had read that the bed can be a "hot-sleeper," but I didn't find that to be the case at all. It was definitely cooler than our previous mattress and we both stayed comfortable all night. We were neither too cool nor too hot; the temperature was just right. Very comfortable all around!
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone interested in the P7. I think the extra money is well spent on this bed."

"My wife and I bought this particular sleep number bed because we like the feel of memory foam, and wanted the adjustability of a sleep number bed. Serious buyers remorse now, since the memory foam doesn't really act like it should - it doesn't contour around you body, it just seems like 3" of high density foam. Be careful if you're looking for a high quality memory foam experience, this may not be for you. This would be a good value if priced in the lower tier of the sleep number products, but I expect much more at this price point."

The Memory Foam in the Sleep Number p7 bed and is not the exact same foam you'd find in a typical memory foam bed. That being said, the foam is very dense, but should conform to your body. If you feel that the bed is too firm or not conforming to you, you may want to try flipping the topper pad, as the memory foam is attached to a softer foam, called interlux-which I believe you will have better luck with. "While the thought of paying $3000+ for a bed seems outrageous, its definitely the best purchase we've ever made. We've had the bed for about a week and nearly every night for the first time in YEARS, I'm able to sleep all through the night AND sleep in later than I usually do. I haven't quite found "my" sleep number yet, I'm all over the place depending on how I feel. I haven't seen a difference in my back pain (have mild scoliosis so I'm always stiff and sore). But I know I will soon. Only thing I would recommend is to get the temperature control mattress pad/cover as the memory foam can get REALLY hot. Will be purchasing that soon."

"Had bed for 3 months now, wish i returned it when i had the chance. The bed is comfortable but it makes me sweat like crazy. I see select comfort sells a matress pad and sheets to stabilize your body temputure for the bed. I think i wasted enough money on the bed already. The Sheets and matress pad Sell for $160 apiece! I spent my last dollar with this company. I slept better on my sterns and foster matress and it was much cheaper"

Occasionally, we receive a comment from someone who sleeps warmer on their Sleep Number bed than on their previous bed. Sleeping warm is actually a sign that the mattress is doing what it is supposed to - providing proper support. The Sleep Number mattress contours closely to your body, which means your body is in contact with more of the mattress than if you were sleeping on an innerspring bed. This reduces pressure points on your body, allowing for improved circulation. The combination of improved circulation and more overall support (contact with the mattress) may cause some individuals to sleep warmer.
To improve your sleeping comfort, please try the following tips:
Tip #1 - Check to see if there is a heat source under or close to your Sleep Number bed (this could even be a pet, which can give off a significant amount of body heat).
Tip #2 - If you have a Pillow top-style mattress, the foam topper pad can retain and reflect heat while you sleep. To reduce this extra warmth, remove the foam comfort pad which rests on top of the air chambers and place it underneath the air chambers.
Tip #3 - Often times, the type of bedding that a person uses contributes to the warmth of the bed. If you find the bed to be warm, we suggest using 100% cotton bedding. This includes your mattress pad, sheets, blanket and comforter. Many people prefer an open weave cotton blanket.

"I've had back pain and spent thousands of dollars on correcting the pain. The pain levels were constantly around 5-8. Between a Pettibon doctor and this bed, my pain level is now 0-1. Thank you select comfort!!"
