Best nights sleep we've ever had Date: February 3, 2009
"After much debate my wife and I finally decided to bight the bullet and buy a sleep number bed. We settled on the 5000 because we felt it was a great value for the price. The assembly was simple and instructions were excellent. The morning after our first night in the bed neither of us had any lower back or neck pain which had been a problem with our old bed. Once you lay down and set your sleep number you won't want to get up. I had read all of the reviews online and then we went to one of the stores to see the beds for ourselves. If you have any doubts go to the store and you likely will leave having purchased one."

Zzzzzzz's Galore! Date: January 6, 2009
"We had always seen the commercial's for the Sleep Number bed's on TV but figured they were very expensive. A few years ago, the doctor discovered I had a severe case of scoliosis and the curvature of my spine was increasing rapidly. Back surgery was needed A.S.A.P! After surgery, it was difficult to find a comfortable bed since my spine was now perfectly aligned. After months of tossing and turning, horrible back pain and complaining to my husband every morning, we finally purchased a Sleep Number bed! This bed is like heaven! I sleep on my side and I use to wake up with my arm asleep and excruciating hip pain. Now? No pain! I sleep at a soft setting and my husband sleeps a bit firmer. If anyone has had any type of surgery, being comfortable when recovering is so hard to find. But with this bed, you are always in complete control and can make it YOUR dream bed with the touch of a button. I wish I had this bed when I was recovering. Don't settle for anything else but a Sleep Number bed! Your body will thank you and you won't regret it!"

Watch out for Wear & Tear Date: December 26, 2008
"Had my bed about 18 months when foam edges began to break down - not covered under warranty because this is normal wear. Read on other sites about this and the top going flat - all around the same time frame (18 - 36 months). You'd think on a bed this expensive that they would use quality materials. Best SURE to read the warranty BEFORE purchase. On the other hand the bed IS comfortable and helps a good deal with aches and pains. It's just too bad I am going to have to be spending money every couple years to replace things that should have been covered under the warranty."

Great at first.... Date: December 1, 2008
"I purchased my 5000 about five years ago. This bed isn't inexpensive as you know but beware of the details in the 20 year warranty. When my bed was 2 1/2 years old the cover had lost all of the fluff that made this bed comfortable in the first place. That is described as a wear and tear item. It reminds me of older carpet padding is the best way to describe it. When carpet is new it has a spring to it, then after a while the foam pad gives up and the wear patterns appear. They call it "foam compression", I call it worn out. To their credit SC pro-rated a new cover. With that it still cost me well over 100.00. Now at year 5 it and the foam pad are compressed again. I am 6ft @195lbs. I was just quoted 653.00 today 12/1/08 for replacement of the cover and pad as a non-warranted item. So with the initial investment, then 150 to 175 ish 2yrs later. I am now faced with another 653 today. I don't think so. It may have been easier to buy a new std bed every few years. It is a great bed at first but don't think after writing the massive check that you are done spending money trying to get a good night sleep."

Feeling a Bit Low Date: October 16, 2008
"I bought a 5000 and as far a comfort, this is one great bed. It is, however, 2 inches short of the advertised depth of 11 inches. It sits at 9 inches, way too low for the type of bed I have. The foundation is 7" deep and you might want to keep this in mind in evaluating your purchase. Size does make a difference!"

Best Bed Ever!!! Date: October 7, 2008
"After having problems with my old mattress set..I could feel the springs. I knew it was time for something new. A friend bought a sleep number bed and loved it. This bed is so comfortable. It's amazing. I look forward to going to bed every night! I sleep so well. No more waking up at night, tossing and turning. I'm getting the best sleep of my life. I highly recommend the sleep number bed to anyone looking for a great nights sleep."

My Favorite Sleep Number Bed! Date: February 25, 2008
"I've this bed for over 13 years & still think it's best bed Select Comfort has to offer. For me it's the perfect amount of cushy pillowtop & firm air support. It really is the best of both worlds. It's the bed I recommend to my friends & family because I think it provides the most comfort along with the best price!"

magic bed Date: February 2, 2008
"i seriously do call it "our magic bed" every day! when we go away we always comment how we can't wait to get back to our magic bed. we know it will make us feel better in an instant! it was the best way to spend our wedding money, especially since he likes a way-too-soft waterbed-type mattress (25), and i prefer much more firm (60-80), there was no way we could have agreed on any other bed! we are so pleased!"

"WOW..What a bed, have never slept so good. I have had problems sleeping for quit a while - tossing and turning, back pain, hurt so bad at times had to get up and sleep in my recliner- would sleep about 1 1/2 hours and wake up and the could only doze waking 4-5 times every night...NOW I sleep all the through, don't toss and turn and no more back pain. I got the adjustable 5000 - I raise the head about 6 inches and set to 70..fantastic-found my number first night. I found the comercials hard to believe, but after no sleeping for months decided to try the bed...WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG..ALL I CAN SAY IS -----WOW---WHAT A BED."

Sleeping like a king Date: December 16, 2007
"After trying to figure out why I slept so well in some motels, I started to examine their construction and then upgrade my bedding at home. Along with a high end down comforter, 600 thread count sheets, a light blanket between top sheet and comforter, I also bought the setect comfort 5000 air mattress and a select comfort down pillow. Call me crazy, but this configuration has changed my life. I get to sleep almost immediately, seldom wake up in the middle of the night, sleep a full 7 to 8 hours and awake very rested. I think this mattress is very important, but would recommend all the upgrades I mentioned to anyone wanting a superior sleep experience. I think your comfort is related to softness and support as well as body temperature regulation. This mattress takes care of the softness and support, but the down pillow and down comforter assist your body to regulate it's temperature. The 600 thread sheets permit free movement and the light blanket between sheets and comforter promote softness. I did not try out the 6000 or 7000 series but wish I had."

The Best Darn Bed Period! Date: November 15, 2007
"I am writing this review to tell you just how impressed I am with your product. When it comes to proper support for the body, there is no such thing as a good spring mattress. There is no better bed than the Sleep Number Bed. The air chamber design supports my body perfectly, no matter how firm or soft I need it, and having the ability to adjust the firmness for each individual side, makes the bed universal. Thank you so much for your wonderful product!"

Bed for Life Date: November 10, 2007
"My husband and I LOVE this bed. He HAD back problems before this bed entered our life 2 years ago. Being able to adjust each side was invented by a genius. We both now love going to bed. I think anyone who buys a traditional bed is wasting money. I highly recommend this bed for everyone as it's everything they claim."

"Half love the bed, half not so much. Love that my side is very firm while my husband's is very soft. But we've found that the bed is VERY hot. It's down to 30 degrees F at night here now, and we're still only sleeping with a sheet -- anything more and we're sweating our butts off. If Select Comfort would correct this problem, it would be the perfect bed."

Great bed Date: November 2, 2007
"We were unsure that the bed would live up to its hype, but it has really made a huge difference to the quality of sleep we get. The ability to adjust the settings independently of one another is great - we both get a great night's sleep with no backache! We did have one problem with the bed, but a call to customer service got the problem fixed very easily without hassle. Love the bed!"

Wedding present to ourselves Date: November 1, 2007
"My wife and I bought the expanded queen 5000 and foundation 5 1/2 years ago as a wedding present to ourselves. We have had a few quality problems (the foundation cracked and the top foam pad wore down a bit), but they were quick replaced with re-engineered parts that seem to have solved the issues. From what I've read, the more recent models are improved in terms of quality.

I don't think we would have enjoyed married life as much with a bed that didn't adjust for each person. I'm bigger and heavier than my wife, and I prefer a firmer mattress, so a traditional bed would have been way too hard for her or far too mushy for me. When she got pregnant, we really appreciated that she could make the bed even softer for sleep and re-inflate it to help her out of bed in the morning. Sometimes, when my back starts acting up, I've found that making my side a bit more firm helps me sleep better.

I can't think of a better present than a good night's sleep.

Great Support Date: October 29, 2007
"I have had bad back problems and my bed made my back pains worse. When I heard the claims in the ad that the Select Comfort bed would help ease back pains by providing the needed support while I slept, I figured I would try out the bed and see if it would in fact support my back and lead to a better night's sleep.
The Select Comfort bed lived up to the ad and now I have no problems sleeping at night, and my back problems are not made worse by the bed.
Great bed and I would and have recommended one to everyone.
