Is ok
Date:January 31, 2012
"The c2 is ok once you find a good spot, but the problem is you might never be able to find it again. This bed has no sleep numbers. Weird sleep number would sell a bed with no sleep numbers. There is also very little foam between you and the air bladder. So this bed is really a expensive air mattress in a cover with some foam thrown in."

"I purchased this bed about 8 months ago. At first I was uncomfortable and it took a while for me to fall asleep. I was tempted to send it back during the trial period but didn't want to deal with the hassle and pricy shipping costs. Eventually I got used to it but far from loved it. I received a 2.5 inch gel/foam mattress topper for Christmas. After some hesitation, I neatly placed the topper inside over the air chamber and zipped the mattress shut. All I can say is WOW!!! With a simple upgrade this is the most comfortable mattress I've ever owned! My only complaint now is I can't stand the wired remote with no display. I'm still not exactly sure what my sleep number is and the whole counting down from what appears to be 100 is a hassle. When people ask which number I prefer, I tell them I have the cheap version with no display but it's still nice."

This bed is a glorified air mattress!
Date:December 20, 2011
"I have never had so many back problems or shoulder and hip pains until I got this bed! Before I had a 2 in memory foam topper on my hard bed and it was perfect! I've had this bed for almost a year now and I have yet to get that deep sleep. All I do is toss and turn! Also, every time my partner rolls on my side of the bed, I can feel the bed pushing me upwards, like a cheap air mattress. I have tried to put all types of toppers on this bed, but nothing has worked. PLEASE DON"T BUY THIS BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Save your money and just buy a 2 in memory foam mattress topper! It works wonders, but unfortunately not on this bed!"

Response from Sleep Number:By StephanieCustomer ServiceJanuary 4, 2012
Hi Allie,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I would like to assure you that we are here to help. Customer Service has comfort tips and ways to help individualize your bed to best suit your needs. The c2 does not have a foam topper pad, which allows you to feel the changes in pressure more easily. Under certain circumstances, there might be motion detected (up/down) on one side of the bed if someone gets out. There is some lateral pressure exerted on the air chambers against each other where they meet. If someone gets out of bed, the occupied chamber now has more “room” and will slightly expand to the center and cause a “drop” for the sleeper. When the other person gets back in bed, it may cause that chamber to expand and press back against the other, causing a “rise”. Please feel free to give Customer Service a call at 1-888-411-2270 or email us at customerservice@selectcomfort.com and we will be happy to assist you.

Single Chamber Queen
Date:May 20, 2011
"I sleep alone, so I decided to try the single chamber queen mattress. What a fantastic decision! Before ordering I was a little concerned about the queen size in a single chamber. But this has to be the finest bed a single person could ever own. Wow, do I sleep great with a nice set of Pima cotton sheets sold by Select Comfort. Great bed. Every night I look forward to hitting the hay! And I almost have to resist going to be too early!"

Welcome to the Sleep Number family, Jeff! I have a single chamber queen i8 and it is THE best bed I've ever slept on. I have slept on a dual chamber, and the single chamber gives a very different support system for a single sleeper. I'd like to invite you to follow us on Twitter, or friend us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sleepnumber. You can see our current promotions, what other owner's are saying about their beds and get sleep tips. Sleep tight!

"Don't let the price scare you. Our queen size select comfort (C2) bed is now 15 years old and is like new. We want to upgrade to king but won't do it till this one wears out. I may just move it to the guest room...I really want a king size. Instead of buying a mattress every 5-8 years that is functional, buy select comfort once and sleep well ALWAYS!"

Awesome!
Date:March 16, 2011
"I got the C2 bed about a month ago and so far I am loving it. At my job I have to be on my feet for 8 hours or more a day and half-way into my shift I was having hip pain. Since I got the bed I haven't felt the pain nearly as bad, maybe very slightly at the end of the day. The C2 doesn't show your number but my husband and I don't mind, we found a comfortable spot and left it there. I was kind of worried about ordering the basic bed because they say it is the firmest bed that they have but it turned out soft enough for us. My husband was complaining about the bed the first few nights saying that it felt like a regular air matress, but he found a comfortable setting and I haven't heard him complain since. Someone that I work with said he has a sleep number and between his and his wifes' side is a hard board, when I got mine I guess they switched it out with a foam pad, so no more uncomfortable cuddling. It is a little more pricy than regular matresses from what I've seen but I feel that it was worth it for me and my husband to have our own comfort levels. I am loving this bed so far, and I would suggest it for everyone!"

Got my Money's Worth!
Date:February 23, 2011
"I've only had my bed a week, and I can tell a difference! I have fibromyalgia and I previously slept on the couch for at least 6 months or better and now I can actually sleep in the bed with my husband comfortably. Now I don't look forward to the alarm clock going off because I'm so comfortable and resting easily. And my previous mattress was firm and not quite 3 years old and still kind of new, we hated to have to buy a new mattress but with such a good deal on it, and the thought that it would help me out with my FMS why not? Thank you sleep number!"

Great bed
Date:February 18, 2011
"We bought this bed when we moved into our new house 15 years ago, and it's still almost like it's brand new. It has held up better than our prior mattresses (We've been married 45 years so have had several mattresses). We both have back problems, and this has been the best bed for that - even our chiropractor agrees."

"We love our King Size sleep number bed so much That we hate to go away on vacation and leave it! I always go by it before leaving and tell it I LOVE IT! I bought the cheapest one refurbished with one controler dig readout and it is fine,we've had the bed for about 9 years. I am now looking for another King size bed for my boat."

Sleeping on Air
Date:January 14, 2011
"COMFORT: My husband and I purchased the king C2 bed and foundation. We have owned it for less than a week and I already sleep better and feel more rested in the morning. We previously slept on a pillow top mattress and after only 6 years, it was sagging on both sides of the mattress where we slept. The pillow top mattress was uncomfortable and we tossed and turned at night, then woke up with back pain. Both myself and my husband no longer have back pain and we don't toss and turn in the middle of the night. For the first time in years, I can actually sleep through the night (without medication).
QUALITY: My ratings are based on the fact that we have only owned the bed for less than a week, so I'm not sure how long this product lasts. The foundation seemed to be durable. The mattress components appeared to be good quality. I expect it to last 10+ years. Some other reviews stated it feels like sleeping on an air mattress. The inside of the mattress of a king is two twin air mattresses. The shell around the air mattresses was thick enough for me that it felt like I was sleeping in a comfortable bed, not an air mattress.
VALUE: If it lasts more than 10 years, it is definitely a good value. The cost was twice as much as my last pillowtop mattress and the pillow top was only comfortable for maybe the first 5 years. So if the sleep number is comfortable for at least 10 years, it is worth every penny.
OVERALL: Prior to purchasing the C2, we purchased a mattress at a department store and after two weeks it began to sag. So we returned it and bought a sleep number. The great part about the sleep number is if the mattress ever losses it's firmness, you simply push the + button and it increases the firmness. There is no sagging because the bed is adjustable.
ASSEMBLY: I also read that some people had difficulty assembling the mattress. While you do have to assemble it, I am a 5' 7" athletic build female in my twenties and I assembled it all by myself in less than an hour. Not to mention I had a cold. It was simple and the directions were really easy to understand.
Overall, WE LOVE our new C2 sleep number bed. Now all I hope is that it lasts for 20 years.
AREAS TO IMPROVE: Air compressor/motor is kind of loud when increasing the firmness (I would not recommend adjusting the firmness in the middle of the night when your spouse is asleep). I would like wireless remotes, but was not willing to spend the extra money. And it would be nice to have a the sleep number displayed on the remotes, but again I was not willing to spend the extra money to have the digital display."

So not worth the money.
Date:January 6, 2011
"I hate this bed. It is the least comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I even bought a foam topper for it, and it still is awful. I've tried so many times to find the correct sleep number - up and down. There is no correct sleep number for this bed. It's hard and uncomfortable at any level. I wake up every morning with a sore neck and back. I waited too long to return it, hoping it would get better. Now, I'm stuck with a $900 bed that makes me miserable."

best purchase ever

"My husband and I purchased a sleep number bed about a year ago. It is the best bed that we have ever purchased. My husband woke up every morning on our old bed with low back pain. Our old bed was a pricey pillow top mattress set that was only a couple of years old. Upon purchasing the sleep number bed, my husband no longer wakes up with back pain and he gets a much better nights sleep. Lucky for me, his snoring has also decreased. We recommend this bed to all our friends."

Best Mattress I ever bought
Date:December 7, 2010
"I just got my sleep number bed a few days ago, I love it! The first night I sleep in it I did not move, and I woke up refreshed, with hardly any back pain. Which had been a real problem for quite a while now.
I am glad I read reviews - as I read one that talked about the Queen (dule chamber) sinking towards the middle when there is just one person using it. In the review I learned what you can do about it.
Also I read about the temperature causing the bed to deflate a bit, which happened last night as it was very cold. So on extreamly cold nights I might start off a bit harder.
I NEED a hard mattress but like soft, so I used the foam padding that I had bought recently and cut it to size. It seems to be working fine.
Thank you Sleep Number Bed- even if I got the lowest price (on sale, which was great!) and don't have digital numbers, I am really satisfied. I truly believe Stephanie (Sleep Number customer service agent that checks on comments) is right, you can feel what is right by just laying on it for a few moments. My sleep number is COMFORTABLE!"

Bet purchase I have ever made
Date:November 27, 2010
"I bought my bed in 1996 at the urging of my boyfriend. I was very skeptical of a bed that was just an air mattress. I am so happy to report that the bed is awesome. Everyone that has ever slept on it wants to take it home with them. In addition to it's comfort is the ease of moving it. I have relocated 6 times since the bed was purchased and it is still as good as new. It's light weight and I can move it alone, it is set up and ready to go again in just minutes. I'm preparing to buy a second bed for my guest bedroom. I would recommend this bed to everyone.

I LOVE this bed!
Date:November 21, 2010
"I need a very firm mattress and after purchasing three different mattresses in six months and having to get rid of them all, I came to the sleep number bed. I bought the least expensive model and no mattress cover or other frills. And FINALLY I sleep wonderfully. I crank the control up to 100 and couldn't be happier. It does slowly leak air and I have to crank up the control again every month or so, but this is without a doubt the best bed I've had in decades."
